A set of six unglazed yakishime round plates by ceramic artist Kai Tsujimura.
These exceptional ceramics capture the elemental dialogue between raw earth and intense fire, showcasing the profound depth of contemporary Japanese wood-fired pottery.

Each piece in this collection bears a completely distinct narrative shaped by its specific placement within the wood-firing kiln.
The surfaces transition beautifully from deep, carbonaceous charcoal greys to warm terracotta oranges, punctuated by striking circular fire marks (botamochi) left naturally by the stacking process.
The unglazed clay body, rich with coarse feldspar inclusions (ishihaze), offers a tactile groundedness and a direct connection to the material's origin.

A single, subtle incised ring traces the inner rim, lending a quiet sense of discipline and structural frame to the otherwise fluid, organic forms.
These plates elevate the presentation of culinary creations, bringing a profound, sculptural presence to modern dining rituals.
