Rakusai Takahashi

Rakusai Takahashi carries one of the storied names of Shigaraki ware, honoring the primal dialogue between earth and fire that has defined the region for centuries.

The coarse, feldspar-rich clay native to Shigaraki reacts vividly in the kiln: warm scarlet fire coloring, natural ash deposits, and stone particles bursting through the surface. Each vessel is a small landscape of that encounter.

wanova presents selected works bearing the Rakusai name, with detailed condition photographs. Viewing at our Roppongi gallery, Tokyo (by appointment).
