千葉の茶室のある再生古民家

千葉・山武の山あいに、四十年あまり手仕事の時を宿してきた日本家屋。長く眠っていた一軒を、茶室をそなえた逗留の場として、静かに甦らせた。

千葉・山武の山あいに建つ、築四十年あまりの本格的な日本家屋。

屋根、垂木、梁、そして細部の彫刻まで、当時の職人が六年ほどの歳月をかけて手で刻んだ仕事が、見上げるたびに伝わってくる。
長く工事が中断していたこの家を、遺したいという施主の願いとともに甦らせ、茶室をそなえた逗留の場へと再生した。

現代の快適さは、控えめに織り込んでいる。
離れの茶室は枯山水の飛石の上に浮かび、格天井や彫りの欄間、続き間の畳が、障子ごしに庭の緑へとひらいていく。

宵闇に灯る、離れの茶室

枯山水の飛石の先、浮き床の茶室に灯がともる。

日が落ちると、深い軒と障子のあいだに、静けさだけが残る。

杉板の一枡ごとに、円形の花文を焼きと彫りであらわした格天井。

当時の職人の手が、見上げるたびに違う表情を返す。

古木と石畳のアプローチ

生垣の門をくぐると、年を重ねた大木のかたわらを御影石の道が抜ける。四十年来この家を遺したいという願いが、導いた一本道。

庭へひらく、茶の場

浮き床の縁から障子を払えば、点前の道具ごしに庭と遠くの土蔵が見通せる。

室内と外が、ひと続きの景色になる
