東京の和の居酒屋

東京の下町にある居酒屋。無垢の木と土壁、小さな坪庭が、茶室のような静けさを、料理と地酒の時間に添えています。

東京のビル地上階にあるこの居酒屋は、椿建築デザイン研究所の設計により、にぎわいのなかに茶室のような静けさを宿しています。無垢の杉丸柱、ナラ一枚板のカウンター、そして紅葉を埋め込んだ土壁（紅葉壁）が、季節と落ち着きの基調をつくります。カウンターの上には扇状の格子垂木が低い空間を上へと抜けさせ、楕円の上げ天井には金貼りの唐紙。障子や移動建具の奥には掘りごたつの個室、入口には丸窓と蹲いのある小さな坪庭。窓辺には地酒が並び、カウンター越しに調理の手元が見えます。

カウンターの上に、扇の天井

一枚板のカウンターの上に、扇状に広がる格子の天井。
低い天井高を逆手に取り、見上げる視線に奥行きと緊張を与えています。

土壁に、散る紅葉

Maple leaves are set into the curve of a plaster wall by the plasterer's hand.
Not open decoration, but a season noticed in passing, placed within the wall itself.

掘りごたつの、静かな個室

A private room with a sunken floor where you can lower your legs.
Red cushions and a small ornament in an alcove give the relaxed setting its quiet focal point.

丸窓と、入口の坪庭

入口には丸窓と小さな坪庭。喧噪のある通りから席までの数歩のあいだに、街の気配がそっと遠ざかります。
