Crafted by ceramic artist Hokuto Ito, this YUNOMI cup unfolds like a deep nocturnal sky captured within a compact, intimate form.

The bird motif, articulated through the artist's signature yukoku (engraved glaze) technique, appears to glide effortlessly through a rich, textured expanse of cobalt and indigo. Subtle, incised lines on the wings catch the ambient light, revealing layered depths and micro-textures upon closer observation. Along the rim, a rhythmic sequence of dark geometric triangles outlined in gold lustre adds a refined modern tension to the classic silhouette.

Holding the vessel reveals a compelling tactile dialogue between the smooth, substantial glaze of the upper body and the raw, unglazed terracotta clay of the foot.
