{"product_id":"shigaraki-chawan-by-katsunori-sawa","title":"Shigaraki Tea Bowl CHAWAN -Japanese Tea Bowl","description":"\u003cp\u003eShigaraki is one of Japan's Six Ancient Kilns, firing coarse, feldspar-flecked clay without applied glaze so that the wood-kiln's ash and flame become the only decoration.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA tall, cylindrical Shigaraki tea bowl by Katsunori Sawa, wood-fired without glaze so that the surface records the fire directly.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe coarse Shigaraki clay is full of feldspar grit, and the firing has left a pale grey-green ash coat over most of the body, with drips of green glass where the ash melted and ran, and warm orange-red scorch where the flame touched bare clay.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe bowl is thrown with visible finger ridges and finished with a thick, slightly irregular rim.
