The bowl is thrown thin and finished with a lightly undulating rim.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe white is warm rather than bright, and the slip has picked up faint grey and pink tones from the clay beneath, with a few dark spots where iron in the body has surfaced through the glaze.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe interior carries the same quiet surface with a soft crackle that will deepen with use.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMade as a \u003ci\u003emukozuke\u003c\/i\u003e, the dish served to the side in a tea meal, it works equally well for a small salad, a sashimi course or fruit.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eKai Tsujimura was born in Nara in 1976. He trained under his father, the ceramicist Shiro Tsujimura, from 1994, before building his own wood-fired kiln in Sakurai, Nara, in 2000.
